With its hint of sweetness from the agave syrup and powerful health benefits from both ginger root and almond milk, it’s time to move beyond coffee and get creative with your caffeine intake.
Let’s get brewing!
Ingredients for Ginger Latte
You will only need 5 simple ingredients for this ginger latte:
- 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk (you can also use coconut milk or oat milk)
- 1 cup of finely chopped fresh ginger root
- 1/4 cup of unrefined brown sugar (you can also use agave syrup or maple syrup)
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1 cinnamon stick (you can also use 1 Tbsp of ground cinnamon)
Ginger Latte Recipe
Step 1: make the ginger syrup
In a small saucepan, add the fresh ginger, sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 35 – 40 minutes. Then strain the ginger through a strainer and pour it into a jar.
Step 2: make the ginger latte
In the saucepan, heat almond milk with 2 tablespoons of the fresh ginger syrup and the cinnamon stick over medium heat. Stir continuously with a whisk for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture is hot and frothy.
For an extra bit of flavor and spice, you can seep a ginger tea bag or sprinkle with a little ground ginger powder for even more ginger flavor.
Transfer the ginger latte to your preferred mug and savor the comforting warmth and frothiness. For an extra touch of indulgence, consider adding some vegan whipped cream on top.
Ginger latte variations
Chai ginger latte: Savor the warmth of a Chai Ginger Latte, infused with aromatic spices like cardamom and cloves, this latte offers a unique and spicy flavor experience that sets it apart. You can also take a shortcut by simply seeping a chai tea bag in the regular ginger latte.
Espresso ginger latte: Elevate your Ginger Latte with a shot of rich and bold espresso. The espresso adds depth and intensity to the sweetness of the ginger and honey, creating a perfectly balanced and satisfying drink.
