Homemade Pecan Butter Recipe

Nothing could be easier than preparing this homemade pecan butter. Just toast the raw pecans, then blend them in a food processor and finally add your flavors.

Prep time: 15 minutes | Total time: 15 minutes

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (180° C)

Step 2

Line your baking tray with parchment paper and spread the raw pecans evenly across the baking sheet.

Step 3

Place the pecans in your preheated oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes. The nuts should be golden brown but not burnt, so make sure you prevent overheating.

Step 4

Remove the pecans from the oven and let them cool down. Add the pecans to your food processor and blend until you get the desired creamy pecan butter texture (about 7 minutes for me but this time will vary depending on the power of your food processor).

Step 5

Add maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon, and blend for a few seconds to combine.

Step 6

Pour your homemade pecan butter into an airtight glass jar and store at room temperature.

Enjoy this delicious nut butter on a slice of warm banana bread or slice of toast.

Expert tips

The flavor of this pecan butter is only as good as the nuts you put in it. If possible, find fresh pecans from local or organic sources stored in your fridge for best results!

Equipment

A kitchen scale: For each of your recipes I advise you to always use a kitchen scale. This element is essential for the success of any recipe.

A food processor, to make pecan butter with the right level of creamy texture. If you don’t have one, consider a high speed blender, but it is not the best utensil for this recipe, I have tried using my Vitamix for nut butters before but always ended up finishing the recipe off with my food processor.
